What it is: The Generic Names Supporting Organization (GNSO) helps to promote the development of Internet policy for generic top-level domains (gTLDs) (such as .com, .org, etc.) and encourages diverse and international participation in the technical management of the Internet. This public forum gives all interested individuals an opportunity to share their views on any issue pending before the GNSO. The GNSO will report on its policy work in progress, and open the microphone for your comments.

What it is: This workshop will help participants understand the role and functions of the Address Supporting Organization.

Why it's important: The Address Supporting Organization represents the numeric Internet address community. It has an important role in providing input to the ICANN
Board on global address policy development. The ASO is also
responsible for selecting a member of the addressing community to serve on the ICANN Board.

Why it's important: The Council will consider policy for the introduction of new domain names (gTLDs), changes to rules governing personal data in WHOIS databases, the GNSO improvement process, the contractual conditions policy development process as well as other important issues.

Why it's important: The Nominating Committee is charged with filling the majority of seats on the Board of Directors, as well as nominating members to serve in leadership positions in other constituencies. Learn how the nomination process works and how you may become involved.
Who should attend: Anyone interested to learn about this unique process or is considering applying for one of the ICANN leadership positions on the Board or any of the constituent bodies.

What it is: The Swedish registy has recently launched a commercial DNS Security
(DNSSEC) service. The Bulgarian registry has DNSSEC operational and expects to release it commercially soon. Representatives from both registries will discuss their experiences and plans.

Why it's important: Registries and registrars who plan to deploy DNSSEC services will benefit
from the presentation and discussion of the deployment experience.

What it is: This workshop will focus on the policy issues related to the introduction of internationalized top level domains. A number of working groups (including the GNSO and the ccNSO jointly with the GAC) have been working since the Sao Paulo meeting to frame IDN policy issues. Papers covering IDN policy issues are anticipated to be generated by these working groups and made available for review by this workshop.
